Having the day off yesterday left me with some time to do some ‘window shopping’ on-line and look what I found on www.poshgirlvintage.com are they not just to lovely?

The only problem is finding this sort of thing in Cape Town Luckily I have a designer friend who loves me keeping him busy expanding the pretty dresses, coats, skirts or anything I want for my wardrobe *winx*

We don’t see each other all the time, but when we do its like no time has passed. We met 5yrs ago and feels like we have always just been there for each other.
The sad is she and her husband are moving to JHB for at least 3yrs. The joy is that they been given a truly fantastic business opportunity.
Luckily we are only 2hrs apart by plane and it is more see you later the good bye.

1st we had the chaos in the family of my Grandfather passing away at the good age of 95.  
Shortly after that happening my co-worker had a breakdown and did not come back to work leaving me with the load of her debtors function as well and my creditors, as no one was sure what was happening with her they left the post vacant from September 2010 to Feb 2011.  
In the middle of all this we get given notice that we need to move by the 1st Feb as the owner of the flat we are in want to do renovation work and waterproofing.  
Then UNISA got really sticky and all the doc’s i did have just could not be found in time to register for the first semester.

And then by Jan everything just pulled right.

We found the right house to move in to as it only become available 1st march we asked for and got the extra month to stay from our owner.
Off one call and in 24hrs  I was registered and am now just awaiting study material from Intec for Business Admin and Import/Export management.
Starting Feb the Co. hired a new Credit controller who is fast, efficient and lovely to work with.
We are finely opening our first shop end of this month
I have started getting some ideas into the reality stages (these are hush hush for now )

I look this in black and white and can say that all hardships and trials do make us stronger, there is light at the end of the tunnel and bad things do come to an end.  

Here is looking forward to 2011 with bright eyes and a bushy tail ready to go on a whole new adventure.

She was about 4 weeks old when abandoned outside a friend’s house malnutritioned and ill, even the vet had very little hope for her.

Yet here she is happy health and getting bigger by the day.  Already i can’t imagine not having her round.

I have an absolute love of platform shoes & boots. Yes i know they have that stripper quality but they are so super cute and at 5ft2 they would give me a much needed advantage getting to those hard to reach shelves

On the 1st of August I registered and got my student number with UNISA!!!

This is so exciting to me, getting back in to studying. I love learning new things and this is something close to my heart and will enable me to give back to others as well.

This is a choice that will take many years to complete, many years of dedicated hard work with longs hours.The support of my family and friends has been invaluable and will continue to be as the years go by.

I am truly blessed in having a husband who understands and supports whole heartedly my decision to start this and who will stand by me to see it completed.

I am now heading towards the beginning of a new career path, it is exciting and scary all at the same time.

So here is putting my best foot forward.

The company I work for has approved funding for me to study my BCom specialising in Industrial & Organisational Psychology.

The Down side -> I have to wait till July before I can register and get all the doc’s in and then will only get to actually start January 2011.
The Upside -> I get to study again, a whole new field, all new stuff oh this sooo exciting !!! As I love learning new things this is great!

So having done some checking i have to wait till September to apply to register with UNISA.   this has given me time to get all the paper work together I just have to remember no matter what i will only be able to start next year anyway:)

THE  STORY CONTINUES…..

So I have now been advised on doing a BBA with a one of my Majors being psychology, the aim is to get my masters. this will alow me in time to have my own practice.  I will be doing two 9 week courses with Life Line this year, and have contacted EAPISA about attending a weekend work shop when they are in the Cape again.  I can’t wait for this journey to begin, i get to help hurting people and work with horses This is one of my dreams coming true.

Thanks to my wonderful husband for supporting me in this new career path, and to my dad (s) who gave me the understanding that learning privilege that should not be wasted when offered:)

All dreams start with a seed

There is always something in your heart, a seed, a hope, a dream, even if you think there is none.  I always told my self that I had no dreams, no real hobbies, no passion for anything in particular.

I was wrong. After years of working doing almost anything and every thing I have finely found what really makes me tick, that thing that says I am awake and ready to go.

This is it …. To own my own business … an interior decor shop.

I love the colour’s and texture’s, the fabrics, the smell of scented candles, the wonderful things lighting can do for a room.I love restoring old to new,  I love the paint, home accessories, scatters and fiddly bits that pretty up your house.

In a nut shell I have found that the very thing that I told myself I hated about my passion for decorating, the working, dealing and interacting with people, is in-fact what I miss the most, that constant ever-changing interaction with humanity, hearing the stories, creating the relationships, reaching out and being invited into peoples most intimate space, and to enter the sanctuary that is a home.

My dad has always told me to have a job that you enjoy and a hobby that can make money. When you are done working use the hobby as your new income and then get a new hobby. That way you are always learning, always growing.

The down side is that it is not what I am doing now. The up side is that everything I have done in my work life has equipped me to have a successful business. At the end of the day never stop dreaming, never give up, look at everything you do in life as part of your training to achieve your dreams.

So now that the dream is looking like a reality, I can find a hobby tha will become a passion  photography. It even has the potential for income in the future.

Whether you know it or not the seed to dream is there.   Let life show you your passion, it is not always what you think it is, but it’s always wonderful when you find it.
